Graduate Medical Education (GME)

In 1944, Mennonite missionaries established a humble dispensary in the La Plata neighborhood of Aibonito in response to their calling to serve the community with Christian love. This community faced extreme poverty and significant health challenges.

Today, we are a non-profit organization equipped with top-tier staff, the latest technology, and advanced medical equipment dedicated to serving all residents of Puerto Rico. Our integrated healthcare system is easily accessible and committed to protecting and promoting the health of all Puerto Ricans.

Our Graduate Medical Education Program at the Centro Médico Menonita Cayey provides you with an exceptional clinical and educational experience.

This program is designed to fully prepare you for independent medical practice and facilitate your pursuit of further training. From the outset, we focus on creating and implementing systems that ensure our GME program is inclusive, distinctive, and fully integrated.

Internal Medicine Residency Program

In a world-class, innovative, and supportive learning environment, the Internal Medicine Residency Program trains internists to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for adult patients.

Our residents build collaborative relationships, value diversity and teamwork, promote their own health and well-being as well as that of others, and communicate with empathy and clarity.

They also demonstrate strong clinical reasoning in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of medical conditions, excelling in clinical care, leadership, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Family Medicine

With a solid foundation in world-class medicine, our Family Medicine program aims to provide a quality educational experience with a preventive and community-focused approach, training professionals equipped to tackle the current and future challenges of patient care.

The family physician is the professional responsible for providing comprehensive and continuous care to every individual. This includes not only the primary care sought by patients through our services but also the appropriate coordination of these services with other levels of care, taking into account both the needs of the population and the resources available in the community served.

Family physicians are the only specialists who receive the specialized training necessary to treat the majority of conditions and provide comprehensive medical care for patients of all ages and at all stages of their lives.
